Wellington Methodist Women plan fall bazaar fundraiser

WELLINGTON – A tradition from the 1950s, the Wellington Methodist Women will host their annual Fall Bazaar from 9:30 a.m.-1:30 p.m. Saturday, Nov. 4 at the fellowship hall, 911 Bowie St.
On behalf of Wellington State Bank, Jonathan Brewer, left, accepts second-place Ice Cream Freeze-Off accolades of $100, sponsored by Bawcom Supply, from Living History cochairman Darrell Colson. Brewer also accepted the first-place Chili Cookoff championship prize of $500 for Wellington State Bank, sponsored by Weatherly Roofing LLC.

Hundreds experience Living History weekend

WELLINGTON – Hundreds of students and history enthusiasts converged upon the Powell Park campground site Friday, Oct. 6 and Saturday, Oct. 7 for the third annual Rocky Sprott Living History weekend, hosted by Sons of Confederate Veterans Charles Goodnight, Frontier Reg. Camp No. 2280.
The Wellington Ritz Theatre’s annual Halloween Spooktacular canned food drive is set for Monday, Oct. 23. The costume contest begins at 6 p.m., followed by a 45-minute feature, “Room on the Broom,” at 6:30 p.m. Admission is one canned food item per person to benefit a local food pantry. Courtesy Image
