In anticipation of the opening of the new Wellington Senior Citizens Center, located in the renovated Bura Handley Community Building, the stage floor has been refinished, the walls and rafters painted and the new Skyrocket-red curtains installed. CHILDRESS — Paying tribute to the 343 New York City Fire Department (FDNY) firefighters who made the ultimate sacrifice on Sept. 11, 2001, the Childress Fire Department and Childress Main Street will host a 9/11 Memorial Stair Climb at 7:30 p.m. Sunday, Sept. 11 at Fair Park Stadium.

MEMPHIS — Southside lawns and landscaping are being ripped up by feral hogs in Memphis,an issue the Memphis Police Department is now battling, according to Police Chief D.W. Griffin.
