Miss Cotton Country accepting 2022 entries

HOLLIS, Okla. – Entries are still open for Miss Cotton Country 2022 set for Saturday, Sept. 17. The 18th annual contest is open to all girls ages five to 19.
The Childress High School Family and Consumer Sciences (FCS) class stocks the Backpack Program’s shelves Thursday, Sept. 1. Spearheaded by the Childress Women’s League, the Backpack Program aids local families, providing them with a weekly backpack, which contains enough food to feed the entire family for a weekend. CHILDRESS – Following a denial of joint election by the Childress County Commissioners Court, the City of Childress City Council met Monday, Aug. 22 to change the polling locations previously adopted on the second reading of Ordinance 08082022, which orders a special election for Nov.
