Edie Johnson, coined the “Butterfly Lady” of Childress, presented a program to Delta Kappa Gamma on butterflies that visit Childress, including her Noth American Butterfly Association Certified Butterfly Garden in southeast Childress. She frequently referred to her butterfly display—photos of butterflies she created on sets of triptych panels. Johnson gave a complete list of items to attract butterflies, as well as one item to never include—“no insecticides, ever,” she said. Grace Holman
