WELLINGTON – The dedication of Powell Park in October 2020 added yet another element to Black History of Collingsworth County. The impact of local contributors, such as Robert Wayne Powell, who still resides in Wellington, are recognized as Black History Month is celebrated annually in February, honoring the triumphs and struggles of African Americans throughout U.S. history.
