WELLINGTON – The Wellington Independent School District (ISD) Board of Trustees met in a Regular Meeting at 7:30 p.m. Tuesday, Oct. 14 in the Superintendent’s Office.Board President Cody Phillips called the meeting to order at 7:31 p.m.
On Sunday, Oct. 12, Cameron Warren, left, and Veronica Garcia ran the 2025 Bank of America Chicago Marathon with Team Ronald McDonald House Charity. The running duo completed their first Abbott Major World Marathon, with Warren running a 4:11:26 and Garcia finishing with a time of 4:12:12, just below the average woman’s time according to race statistics since 2000. CHICAGO – Friends Cameron Warren, an accountant at Wellington’s Greenbelt Electric Cooperative, Inc., and Veronica Garcia, a fifth-grade teacher at Wellington Elementary School, recently traveled to Chicago, Ill. for the purpose of competing in the 26.21mile 2025 Bank of America Chicago Marathon.

Wellington Lions Club’s annual Fiesta Pile-On fundraiser is set for 5-6:30 p.m. Friday, Nov. 7 at the Bura Handley Community Building, 906 Amarillo St. Visitors can dine-in or carry out, and all are encouraged to bring old eyeglasses to be recycled. The meal will be hosted prior to Wellington’s final home game, as the Skyrockets host the Memphis Cyclones for a senior-night matchup at 7 p.m. at Powell Field. Wellington Lions Club
