Collingsworth County 4-Hers convened at the courthouse for their annual evening of Christmas caroling Thursday, Dec. 12. Youth loaded on trailers for the journey to Wellington Care Center and Parkview Manor Assisted Living. Residents listened intently for their favorite holiday tunes.

Texas Vehicle Safety Inspection Program changes now in effect

AUSTIN – The Texas Department of Public Safety (DPS) reminds Texans that changes to the state’s Vehicle Safety Inspection Program are now in effect.These changes—which took effect on Jan. 1, 2025, and eliminate many vehicle safety inspections— are due to House Bill 3297.

WELLINGTON – Around 75 guests joined in celebrating Mary “Cindy” White’s “Cheers to 50 years!” reception for her incredible service to Collingsworth General Hospital (CGH). A steady stream of visitors began arriving at 2 p.m. Thursday, Jan. 2 in the dining room of Parkview Manor Assisted Living.

CHILDRESS — Local youth are gearing up for the two-day Childress County Youth Project Show, which will kick off Friday, Jan. 10 at the Mashburn Event Center and Arena.The Mashburn Event Center and Arena, which opened to exhibitors at 3 p.m. Thursday, Jan. 9, will open at 7 a.m.
