Local students graduate from SPC

LEVELLAND — Makaila Granadoz, of Wellington, and Lauren Hightower, of Childress, were among more than 800 students who received degrees and certificates in Spring 2026 at South Plains College.
Despite the windy, chilly weather, members of Delta Kappa Gamma met for their monthly program Tuesday, May 19, taking a tour of Edith Johnson’s butterfly garden, certified by the North American Butterfly Association. The garden visit was a follow-up to an earlier program given to the group by Johnson, who is coined the “Butterfly Lady.” GRACE HOLMAN
