My grandfather, John B. Hardwicke, was a student at Texas A&M University when America entered World War I. He and the rest of the student body left to fight the war. His oldest son was at Texas A&M when Pearl Harbor was attacked. The entire student body was brought into their largest arena and signed up to fight the Axis forces of World War II....
