JULIA BARJENBRUCH

Body

Julia Barjenbruch, a resident of New Braunfels, passed away peacefully at her home on Friday evening, October 16, 2026, at the age of 70.

Born on August 1, 1956, in Hobbs, New Mexico, Julia was the daughter of the late Eldon Allman and Louvenia Garrison Allman. A dedicated professional with a heart for helping others, Julia worked throughout her life as a rehabilitation therapist and a schoolteacher. She attended West Texas State University and graduated from LSU Medical School in New Orleans, Louisiana.

On August 16, 1975, she married the love of her life, Sidney Michael Barjenbruch, in Canyon, Texas. Together, they built a wonderful life, raising their family across Texas, Alabama, and Louisiana.

Julia possessed a vibrant spirit and a deeply loving heart. A talented pianist, music was a constant joy in her life, and she was an active, devoted member of the United Methodist Church wherever she lived, lending her talents to both the choir and bell choir.

An adventurous soul, Julia traveled the world, visiting numerous countries and continents. She cherished spending time outdoors, especially enjoying family vacations to the beach and mountains, as well as camping trips. Above all, her greatest joy in recent years came from spending precious time with her grandchildren on their special “nanacations.”

She was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Sidney Michael Barjenbruch; her daughter, Carrie Barjenbruch; and her parents, Eldon and Louvenia Allman.

Julia’s memory and legacy are carried on by her loving family, her son, Rob Barjenbruch and wife Lorena Barjenbruch; and her daughter, Erica Nicoll, and husband William Nicoll. She was the proud and devoted grandmother to her six grandchildren: Michael Barjenbruch, John Barjenbruch, David Barjenbruch, Sunny Mitchell, Penelope Mitchell, and Mac Nicoll. She is also survived by numerous nieces, nephews, and cousins who will miss her dearly.

Memorial services took place at 11 a,m. on Saturday, October 24, 2026, at Gruene United Methodist Church. Interment will follow at a later date in Wellington.
