Willie Ray Ward, of Childress, died peacefully, surrounded by loved ones on Sept. 29, 2022. Private family services will be held at a later date. Willie was the oldest of 12 children to parents Robert Wiliam Ward and Annie Irene Ward. He was born on Feb. 24, 1943, in Comanche, Okla.

David ‘Bunny’Throne

David “Bunny” Throne, age 70, of Childress, Texas, went to his heavenly home on Sept. 17, 2022. Bunny was born on April 5, 1952, to Leonard (L.C.) and Wretha (Underwood) Throne. He was a skilled carpenter all of his life and worked for Lancer for a long time.

Dan Paul Crawford, 66, of Dallas, Texas, died peacefully on Sept. 11, 2022. After his cancer diagnosis, he embodied love, wit and tenacity, employing the ‘’warrior Crawford spirit’’ to guide him. Dan was born in Wellington, Texas on Feb. 8, 1956, to Billie Moates Crawford and C.A Crawford.

Wanda Rose Phipps Daugherty, 85, of Mesquite, Texas, passed away Wednesday, Sept. 21, 2022. Wanda Rose was born April 30, 1937, the first child of Mathew Dudley Phipps and Naomi Ruth Monk Phipps in Wellington,Texas at her aunt’s home.
