Senior night honors Class of 2024 basketball players

WELLINGTON – Family and friends packed the stands of the Wellington High School gymnasium for four games against Quanah and senior night on Friday, Feb. 2. Twelve seniors took center court with their parents for the recognition following the varsity girls’ game.

CHILDRESS — Following three collegiate football offers, Childress Bobcat senior Da’Reon Mathis announced his commitment to Hardin- Simmons University, located in Abilene, Tuesday, Jan. 30, a little over a week prior to National Signing Day.

Childress, Memphis lifters compete in Childress Boys Powerlifting Meet

CHILDRESS — Competing in the Childress Boys Powerlifting Meet, Childress’ Adrian Macias was the sole Bobcat to take a firstplace finish Thursday, Feb. 1, squatting 445 pounds, bench pressing 365 pounds and deadlifting 450 pounds for a 1,260-pound total in weight class 275.
