SHAMROCK — The Wellington Skyrockets downed Shamrock in a 21-3 season opening win Tuesday,March 10 in Shamrock.Leading the Skyrockets, Alex Orozco collected five hits in five at bats, singling in the first, second and fourth innings.

Lady Cats continue win streak, taking Floydada Tournament Championship

CHILDRESS — The Childress Lady Cats picked up another six consecutive wins, adding to their 11-game win streak, including a 6-0 final at the Floydada Tournament,where the Lady Cats brought home the championship, as well as Tournament Most Valuable Player (MVP) and Defensive MVP honors.

The Childress Lady Cat softball team takes a trip to Rocky Johnson Field in Lubbock, where they watched the Texas Tech Lady Raiders compete in the Jeannine McHaney Memorial Classic. Tech finished with a 6-0 sweep, taking down Abilene Christian University (24-0), North Texas University (10-2, 7-2), Texas A&M University–Corpus Christi (18-0, 24-1) and the University of Detroit Mercy (9-0).
