Wellington Elementary School fourth-grader Berkeley Ward captures the 2023 Ryan Palmer Classic Prep Division Girls 9-10 Championship Wednesday, June 14 at Tascosa Country Club in Amarillo. Ward’s fourth competition of the summer, the event is in partnership with the North Texas Junior Professional Golf Association. Her first time to play with sand on every hole, Ward stayed focused. The varsity Wellington Skyrockets played in the summer Cache Basketball Tournament, going 10-0 this past week in Cache, Okla. Wellington brought home the gold, winning the championship. The three-day event included games in Lawton, Okla., as well as Cache.
