The Texas Panhandle Track and Field Club will compete at the Texas Amateur Athletic Foundation (TAAF) Region 9 Regional Track and Field Meet Friday, July 10-Saturday, July 11 in Lubbock. Childress’ Ansley Parr was recently selected to Texas High School Softball’s Top 10 Strikeout Leaders. In Class 3A, Parr ranked No. 6, racking up 307 strikeouts in 2026. Parr was preceded by Iowa Park’s Callista Berrett, 370 strikeouts; Clyde’s Brynli Reynolds, 333 strikeouts; Grandview’s Madi Doty, 331 strikeouts; Boyd’s Abby Atkinson, 315 strikeouts; and Warren’s Kenley Fife, 308 strikeouts. The Memphis High School Future Farmers of America (FFA) chapter hosts the Third Annual Golf Scram ble fundraiser Saturday, June 20 at the Memphis Country Club. A four-person scramble, all proceeds benefited the chapter’s upcoming trip to the Texas FFA State Convention in Fort Worth.
