WELLINGTON — Opening district play, the Wellington Skyrockets put up a 16-6 win over the Quanah Indians Tuesday, March 24 in Wellington.Leo Granadoz, Colton Jernigan and Trevyn Wiebe combined for four of the team’s seven hits in the victory, scoring seven runs and driving in two.

CHILDRESS – Competing at Stoney Ridge Golf Course in Childress,both the Skyrockets and Lady Rockets finished as the district runner-up teams on Tuesday, March 24, advancing to the regional tournament Monday, April 13-Thursday, April 16 at Palo Duro Creek Golf Course.

SPEARMAN — Childress and Wellington track and field athletes recently competed in the Lynx Relays Thursday, March 19 in Spearman.On the boys’ side, the Bobcats finished in sixth place with 43 points, followed by the Skyrockets in 11th with 10 points.

AMARILLO — The Childress Bobcats picked up their second win over River Road this season in a 13-8 final Friday, March 20 in Amarillo.Trailing by as many as four runs during the game,the Bobcats were the first on the board,scoring a run on a passed ball.
