WELLINGTON – Freshman Ava Peters earned the 2025 crown at the 72nd Miss Wellington Scholarship Pageant. Presented by the former Miss Wellington organization, 15 contestants adorned the stage of the historic Wellington Ritz Theatre as the production proceeded at 3:30 p.m. Saturday, Oct. 4.

First-grade Sparklers at Wellington Elementary School celebrated Johnny Appleseed Day, dressing as the famous apple farmer on Friday, Sept. 26. Students spent the week learning all about American Pioneer John Chapman and apples.

WELLINGTON – The Chili Cookoff and Ice Cream Freeze-Off highlighted Fifth Annual Rocky Sprott Living History events Saturday, Oct. 4 at Powell Park. Hosted by Sons of Confederate Veterans (SCV) Charles Goodnight Frontier Reg. Camp #2280, vendors and sutlers returned for a second day of festivities.
