Lloyd Barry Phillips, 82, of Las Cruces, N.M., passed away on Sunday, April 27, 2025, in Las Cruces.

Graveside services will be held at 11 a.m. Monday, May 12, 2025, at Fairview Cemetery in Memphis, Texas, with Rev. Daniel Downey officiating. Arrangements are under the direction of Robertson Funeral Directors of Memphis.

Barry was born on April 25, 1943, in Clay County, Texas, to William Lloyd and Margaret Armina Patton Phillips. He grew up as an only child in Memphis, graduating from Memphis High School in 1961 before embarking on a lifelong career as a salesman, specializing in cotton gin equipment. His work took him across the Southwest, from Texas to California to Arizona, and finally to Las Cruces, where he retired.

Barry was passionate about his work, eagerly attending ginners conventions and building relationships within the cotton industry. Beyond his professional life, he was an avid reader who often finished books in a single day and loved the comfort of being at home.

He was preceded in death by his parents, William and Margaret Phillips.

Barry is survived by two sons, Dale Phillips and Gilbert Phillips; two daughters, Terri Lynn Fabela and Kimberly Phillips; and five grandchildren.
