Linda Nell (Stephenson) Rothwell, 86, passed away on May 23, 2026, in Childress, Texas A memorial service was held at 11 a.m. Saturday May 30, 2026, at the Methodist Church.
Visitation was held from 5-7 p.m. Friday, May 29, 2026, at Johnson Funeral Home.
Linda was born on May 2, 1940, in Childress, to the late Floyd Stephenson and the late Lucille (McCain) Stephenson.
Linda loved square dancing and Tole painting. She was also involved with 4-H and was very dedicated to the Methodist women group. She and her husband even completed the Rothwell circle together.
Linda is survived by her daughter, Stephanie Murphy, and husband Danny; her son, Stephen Rothwell, and wife Karen; grandchildren Terence Murphy and wife Carla, Colton Clee Rothwell, Paden Rothwell, Callie Guerrero and husband Gus, Colton Wynn and Joey Wynn; and great-grandchildren Sean Murphy, Kali Murphy, Ricky Murphy, Ruston Murphy, Nova Guerrero and Luna Guerrero.
Linda is preceded in death by her son, John William “Dusty” Rothwell III; her father, Floyd Stephenson; her mother, Lucille Stephenson; her husband, Sandy Rothwell; her brothers, AR Stephenson and LeRoy Stephenson; and her granddaughter, Tiffany Murphy.
