Gerald Octavius Ledbetter, 31, of Lubbock, Texas, passed away on Thursday, July 23, 2026, in New Mexico.

A celebration of Gerald’s life took place at 1 p.m. on Saturday, Aug. 1, 2026, at First Baptist Church in Memphis, Texas. Burial followed at Fairview Cemetery in Memphis. Arrangements were under the care of Robertson Funeral Directors of Memphis.

Gerald was born on Oct. 23, 1994, in Memphis, Texas, to Gerald Ledbetter and LaSonya McIntosh. He grew up in Memphis and graduated from Memphis High School with the Class of 2013. On June 22, 2024, he married the love of his life, Ashley Nichole Hicks.

Gerald was a hardworking man, a devoted husband, brother, and uncle, a wonderful father, and a dedicated provider for his family. He found joy in fishing, watching football, and was a proud and loyal Philadelphia Eagles fan.

Some of Gerald’s happiest moments were spent with his family—playing Warzone with his children, gathering around the domino table, and creating lasting memories with those he loved most. He attended Broadview Baptist Church in Lubbock and was baptized on Dec. 14, 2025, a meaningful milestone in his faith.

He was preceded in death by his maternal grandparents, Charles and Esther McIntosh; his paternal grandmother, Etta Ledbetter; his aunt, LaSondra McIntosh; and his uncles, Travis Johnson and Robert Contee.

Those left to cherish his memory include his beloved wife, Ashley Ledbetter, of Lubbock; his mother, LaSonya McIntosh, of Memphis; his father, Gerald Ledbetter, of Memphis; his sons, Mavrik Ledbetter, Peyton Ledbetter, Gerald Ledbetter, Jr., and Alexander Ledbetter, all of Lubbock; his daughter, Alexis Ledbetter, of Lubbock; his brother, Michael McIntosh, of Memphis; his sister, Mikayla Ledbetter, of Memphis; his aunts, Sharon Johnson, Charlotte Maddox, and Corean McIntosh; his uncles, Guy Ledbetter, Charles McIntosh, and James McIntosh; along with numerous cousins, extended family members, and many friends who will forever cherish his memory.
