Cristina Acosta,40,of Wellington, Texas, passed away Friday, Dec. 9, 2022.
A funeral mass took place at 10 a.m. Friday, Dec. 16, 2022,at Our Mother of Mercy Catholic Church, located in Wellington, with Fr. Anthony Kowtiki as celebrant. Burial followed in Memorial Gardens Cemetery. Arrangements were by Adams Funeral Home of Wellington.
She was born on Jan. 12, 1982, in Mission, Texas to Rogelio and Juana Reyes Vela.
Cristina came to Wellington in 1990 with her family and graduated Wellington High School. She had recently graduated from MCA Skin Care Academy in Wellington.
She was member of the Catholic church and had worked for Birdsong Peanut Company as a scale operator for several years.
Cristina is survived by her partner, Epitacio Salas; her parents, Rogelio and Juana Vela; a son, Israel Acosta Jr.; a daughter, Ava Acosta; two brothers, Roy Vela Jr. and his wife,Anna,and Moy Vela and his wife, Wendy; her sister, Mari Lee Vela and Nick Derr; and her nieces and nephews, all of Wellington.
