Juanita Langley, 86, of Quail, Texas, passed away Wednesday, Dec. 21, 2022, in Wheeler, Texas.
A celebration of life service took place at 2 p.m. Monday, Dec. 26, 2022, at the Quail Baptist Church with Rev. Anthony Knowles, pastor, officiating. Burial followed in Quail Cemetery. Arrangements were by Adams Funeral Home of Wellington.
She was born Sept. 16, 1936, in Devine, Texas, to J.W. and Pauline Brookshire Boen. She attended school in Quail until her sophomore year, when she married Donald “Doodle” Langley on Feb. 1, 1953, in Wellington. He preceded her in death in 2013.
Juanita was a former longtime member of the Primitive Baptist Church and served as a member of the Quail Baptist Church. She was an active member of the Quail Booster Club and in the Quail community until her illness.
She was also preceded in death by her parents, two brothers and a sister.
Juanita is survived by her daughter, Donna Thaten; her son, Randy Langley, and his wife, Susan, both of Wellington; a sister, Mary Jo Nixon, of Yukon, Okla.; two granddaughters, Vanessa Derrick, of Matador, Texas, and Marcie Orr and her husband, Matt, of Wellington; and four great grandsons, Hunter Stark, Seth Derrick and Maverick and Maxon Orr.
In lieu of flowers, the family suggests that memorials be made to the Quail Booster Club, the Quail Cemetery Association or the Sean Delaney Memorial Scholarship in care of Adams Funeral Home, 1300 East Ave., Wellington, TX 79095.
