LONNIE EUGENE LYNN
Lonnie Eugene Lynn, 86, of Childress, Texas, passed away peacefully in his home on Jan. 2, 2023.
Memorial services will be held at Childress Cemetery Chapel at 2 p.m. Jan. 14, 2023.
Lonnie was born on Feb. 4, 1936, to Lonzo and Elsie Lynn in Butler, Okla. After Lonnie graduated from Matador High School in 1954, he then went to work for the Texas Department of Transportation (TxDOT). He joined the Army in 1959 and was stationed in Germany until 1961. After returning from Germany, he continued working for TxDOT.
Lonnie met Marianne while stationed in Germany. Marianne came over to the states and married Lonnie in 1961. They went on to have two children, Connie Dian Imhof and Michelle DeAnn Sauceda.
In 1991, Lonnie retired and spent his time fishing, which he loved to do. He also enjoyed hunting, golfing and spending time in his shop.
He is survived by his wife, Marianne; children Connie and husband Chris, and Michelle; grandchildren Christen, Kyle, Alex, Alexis and Amber; and great-grandchildren Maddie, Connor, Caitlin, Maren, Ila and August.
Lonnie is also survived by his four sisters and many extended family and friends.
Lonnie was predeceased by his parents, three sisters, one brother and one grandson.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to Holy Angels Catholic Church or Meals on Wheels.
