Wayne Gilbert Cook, 87, passed away on March 7, 2023. Wayne was born on Feb. 18, 1936, to Emma Marie Kirby and Oscar Leonard Cook in Grand Prairie, Texas.
Wayne served as a Texas State Trooper for eight years and went on to driving for Trailways/Greyhound for 35 years. He was artistically talented and liked to paint. Wayne also enjoyed playing card and domino games, such as poker and 42. Wayne and his loving wife, Linda, spent 50 years living in Grapevine, Texas and spent the last two years in Royse City, Texas.
Wayne is survived by his wife of 57 years, Linda Cook; children Anthony Keith Cook and wife Nita, Paul David Cook and wife Deborah, Judy Ann Leverett and husband Woody, and Gregory Joseph Cook and wife Brandi; sibling Ginger Kay Pinkard-Burnett and husband Scott; brother-in-law Rosser Arthur Menoher; 11 grandchildren, nine great-grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews, along with a host of loving relatives and friends.
Wayne is preceded in death by his parents, Oscar and Emma Marie Cook; son Wayne Patrick Cook; and sister Patsy Marie Cook Menoher.
