MARY ANN COATS
Mary Ann Coats, 68, of Wellington, Texas, passed away Friday, May 5, 2023.
Memorial services took place at 2 p.m. Saturday, May 20, 2023, at Adams Funeral Chapel with Gene Weinette, pastor of the First Methodist Church, officiating. Cremation and arrangements were by Adams Funeral Home of Wellington.
She was born Jan. 20, 1955, in Lubbock, Texas, to Jessie D. and Rebecca Cook Burkhalter.
Mary Ann graduated from Amarillo High School in 1973 and served as a doctor’s assistant for several years as well as other jobs through time.
She semi-retired and came back to Wellington in 2011 to be near famil y.
Mary Ann was a great homemaker and mom. She always made sure there was dinner cooked, and she loved working out in the yard. Her grandkids loved coming up and staying with her in Texas. She was always a good friend, too and would give you the shirt off her back if you needed it. She was caring and had a big heart.
She was preceded in death by her parents and her brother, Mike Burkhalter.
Mary Ann is survived by a daughter, Ashley Coats, of Comanche, Okla.; three grandchildren, Connor and Rebecca Roper and Rylan Hightower; and all her cousins.
