Funeral mass for David Rico Jr., 62, was held at 10 a.m. Saturday, May 27, 2023, at Holy Angels Catholic Church with Father John Sudhakar Sangabathini officiating. Burial followed in Childress Cemetery under the direction of Johnson Funeral Home. Rosary was read at 6 p.m. Friday, May 26, 2023, at the Johnson Funeral Home Chapel, west of the funeral home.
He passed away May 25, 2023, in Childress, Texas.
David was born May 25, 1961, in Childress to David Rico Sr. and Roberta Martinez Rico.
He enjoyed hanging out with friends and loved his family. He loved to barbecue and enjoyed collecting arrowheads. He loved the Dallas Cowboys, and he enjoyed watching old westerns. He always had to have his handkerchief, and he loved camping and fishing.
He was preceded in death by his father, David Rico Sr., and a brother, George Rico Sr.
Survivors include his mother, Roberta Rico; three sisters, Elizabeth Brown and husband Mike, Johnnie Juarez and Mary Ramos and husband Jimmy; a brother, Alex Rico; a niece, Justice Hernandez; and a daughter, Andrea Hernandez.
