Dorothy F. Roberson, 92, of Wellington, Texas, passed away Wednesday, July 3, 2024.
Graveside services took place at 11 a.m. Thursday, July 11, 2024, at North Fairview Cemetery with Rev. Ronnie Lambert, pastor of the First Baptist Church, officiating. Burial followed the service. Arrangements were by Adams Funeral Home of Wellington.
Josh, Jake and Pat Roberson and Brian, Chris and Grayson Holden served as pallbearers.
She was born on Jan. 20, 1932, in Memphis, Texas, to William M. and Sally E. Wilder Blades. She married James “Jimmy” Roberson on Nov. 20, 1949, in Clovis, N.M. He preceded her in death.
Dorothy served as a glass inspector for the Glass Container Company in Vernon, Calif. for 25 years and, later, served as a nurse’s aide for Outreach in Amarillo, Texas for three years.They returned to Wellington in 1990 to retire.
She was a member of the Faith Baptist Church.
Dorothy was also preceded in death by her parents; two grandsons, Travis Roberson and Donny Holden; three sisters, Mary, Shirley and Rita; and three brothers, Bill, Dale and Thomas.
She is survived by her daughter, Linda Taylor and Joe, of Wellington; two sons, Steve Roberson and Darlene, of Fullerton, Calif., and Ron Roberson and Arlene, of Wellington; a sister, Etta McDonald, of Iowa; nine grandchildren; and nine great-grandchildren.
The family suggest that memorials be made to the Faith Baptist Church or the Wellington Cemetery Association.
