She graduated from Quail High School in 1941 and was in the “Who’s Who Texas High Schools.” She attended Hills Business University in Oklahoma City, then worked at Tinker Field in Civil Service for eight years. She is survived by two daughters, Charlotte Ann Hughart and her husband Paul Eckman, of Loveland, Colo., and Marsha Sue Hughart and her husband, David Childers, of Houston; one sister-in-law, Nina Atkinson Snider, of Plainview, Texas; and four grandchildren, five great-grandchildren, two nephews and one niece, all of Texas.

She was predeceased by her parents; her brothers, A.W. Atkinson and Orville Atkinson; and her sister-inlaw, Margaret Atkinson.

Alice belonged to Wesley United Methodist Church for over 70 years and was always active in Sunday School and other activities at her church. She had been a Camp Fire Girls leader for 15 years. She loved being a “jet-set” babysitting grandmother for her two precious grandchildren in Houston when they were young.
