BILLY “MONK” CUNNINGHAM
Billy “Monk” Cunningham, 31, passed from this life on July 14, 2025.
Graveside services were held at 10 a.m. Saturday, July 19, 2025, at Childress Cemetery.
Billy was born on March 13, 1994, to Christine (Decker) Adams and Bill Cunningham in Childress, Texas.
Billy was so sweet and funny. Once, when he was 3, Bill brought him home one day, and Billy said, “Mom, this is my dad. Dad, this is Mom.” Bill just looked at him and said, “We’ve met.” Billy was so proud of himself for “introducing” his parents.
Billy loved his baby girls — they were everything to him. He was just a kind and absolutely loving individual.
Those left to cherish his memory are mother Christy Adams and husband Joe, of Dalhart, Texas; brother Matthew Phillips and wife Dakota, of Russell, Kan.; grandfather Richard Decker, of Tell, Texas; sister Lauren Caddell and husband Chris, of Houston; cousin Cori Sheets and husband Brandon, of Amarillo, Texas; cousin Jacq Killian-Cox and wife Lucy, of Lubbock, Texas; cousin Josh Cox, of Amarillo; father Bill Cunningham and wife Melisa, of Childress; sister Brianna Harkins, of Denver, Colo.; brother Cannen Bush, of Cocoa Beach, Fla.; brother Saxen Bush, of Childress; daughter Jordynn Cunningham, of Childress; daughter Saige Cunningham, of Childress; and numerous extended family and loved ones.
Billy is preceded in death by his grandmothers, Callie Decker and Ruby Cunningham; grandfather Bill Cunningham; daughter Lily Cunningham; sister Megan Adams; and aunt Cathy Cox.
