CLARENCE WELDON REESE
Memorial services for Clarence Weldon Reese, 79, will be held at 10 a.m. Saturday, July 29, 2023, at Calvary Baptist Church with Kevin Smith officiating. A graveside service will be held at 9 a.m. Saturday, July 29, 2023, at Childress Cemetery.
He passed away July 1, 2023, in Childress, Texas.
He was born Dec. 27, 1943, in Sweetwater, Texas to Clarence Reese and Valley May Franklin Reese, just minutes before his favorite twin sister, Nelda.
He was drafted into the Army and served as a cook in Cu Chi, Vietnam. After working for McDonald Concrete in Stratford, Texas, he became a truck driver. He most recently worked for Panhandle Transit. He could be seen the last Saturday of the month at the Childress Senior Citizens, playing music with his friends.
He was preceded in death by his parents; a son, Clarence “Aaron” Reese; his first wife, Mary Reese; and his second wife, Martha Reese.
Survivors include his daughters, Rene’ Reese and Darla Reese, of Childress; his grandchildren, Teresa Shaw and Jeremy Shaw, of Yulee, Fla.; siblings Delois Moss, of Madison, Tenn., and Nelda Rhea, of Paris, Texas; and his stepchildren, Sandra Denny and Delores Stewart, of Childress.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorials to Childress Senior Citizens.
