Graveside services for Dorothy Miller, 86, were held at 2 p.m. Saturday, Nov. 18, 2023, at Childress Cemetery with Dr. Mike Henderson officiating. Burial followed under the direction of Johnson Funeral Home. Visitation was held from 9-11 a.m. Saturday, Nov. 18, 2023, at the funeral home.
She passed away Nov. 15, 2023, in Amarillo, Texas.
Dorothy Russell was born May 13, 1937, in Childress, Texas to Lawrence Russell and Lucy Smiley Russell.
She was very neat and tidy. Everything had a place. She loved to cook. When her daughter, Tammy, was a child, she made all of her clothes. She loved thrift stores and shopping for antiques. She was a quiet lady. She enjoyed watching old westerns and cooking shows.
She was preceded in death by her parents and her husband, Donald Miller.
Survivors include her daughter, Tammy Williams, and husband Mark; grandchildren Erick Williams, Dustin Williams and Kaitlyn Killham; a sister, Linda Asaph; a sisterin- law, Glenda Gibson; and eight great-grandchildren.
The family suggests memorials to Childress Meals on Wheels.
