Geney Gulley, 65, of Wellington, Texas, passed away Saturday, April 15, 2023.

Memorial services will be held at 10 a.m. Saturday, April 22, 2023, at the First Methodist Church with Rev. Barry Donham, pastor of the Pipe Creek Community Church in Pipe Creek, Texas, and Rev. Lee Bevly, pastor of the Samnorwood Baptist Church, officiating. Arrangements are by Adams Funeral Home of Wellington.

She was born on July 26, 1957, in Hern, Texas, to Gene and Mary Peters Morrow, and she moved to Wellington with her family in 1957.

Geney graduated from Wellington High School in 1975 and attended West Texas State University and Clarendon College. She married Pat Gulley on Sept. 11, 1976, in Wellington.

In 2019, she retired from the U.S. Postal Service after serving 31 years, mostly as a letter carrier. Everyone on her route always appreciated her excellent service and enjoyed her sweet personality.

Geney served as a member of the Wellington Professional Women’s Club, as secretary of the Collingsworth County Museum Board of Directors and the Collingsworth County Chamber of Commerce. She also volunteered with the Ritz Guild and catered meals for Wellington Lions Club.

She was a member of the Samnorwood Baptist Church and a former member of the Order of the Eastern Star.

Geney was preceded in death by her parents.

Her survivors include her husband, Pat, of Wellington; two sons, Scooter Gulley and his wife, Stephanie, of Big Spring, Texas, and Clint Gulley and his wife, Mandy, of Canute, Okla.; and a daughter, Whitney Wiebe and her husband, Benny, of Wellington; and five grandchildren, Shylee Gulley, Peri Gulley, Steven Gulley, Westin Wiebe and Barrett Wiebe.
