Harold C. Scott, of Wellington, Texas, passed away on Sunday, March 2, 2025, in Amarillo, Texas, having just celebrated his 95th birthday with his family on Saturday.
Graveside services will be at 11 a.m. Friday, March 7, 2025, at North Fairview Cemetery with Neil Stidolph, minister of the Bowie Street Church of Christ, officiating. Arrangements are by Adams Funeral Home of Wellington.
He was born on March 1, 1930, in Childress County, Texas to Raymond B. and Mary M. Lawrence Scott. He married Mary Lou Wilson on August 12, 1956, in Wellington. She preceded him in death in 2017.
Harold served in the U.S. Air Force from 19511954 during the Korean War and was honorably discharged to the Air Force Reserves for a number of years.
After the service to his country, he returned home to farm and ranch his family land, and through the years, he installed and repaired windmills for others.
Harold was a faithful member of the Bowie Street Church of Christ and served several years on the Salt Fork Soil and Water Conservation District Board.
He was also preceded in death by his parents; his brother, Dwane Scott; and his sister, Dorothy Summar.
Harold is survived by his son, Harold Lee Scott, and his wife, Linda, of Lubbock, Texas; two daughters, Sonya Scruggs and her husband, Robert, of Amarillo, and Stacy Crownover, of Glen Rose, Texas; a brother, Jerry Scott, and his wife, Glenda, of Wellington; six grandchildren, Laci Beezley and husband Jason, Scott Tucker and wife Emily, Jonathan Scott and wife Ally, Kallie Scott, Megan Grubbs and husband Steaven and Shelby Wallis; nine great-grandchildren, Cadence Phillips, Carson Phillips, Kaiden Tucker, Annalie Tucker, Madison Bilbrey, Trenton Bilbrey, Nathan Grubbs, Kennedy Forrest and Klara Forrest; nieces and nephews; and a host of friends.
