Henry Fred Allison Jr., 79, of Twitty, Texas, died Saturday, Dec. 17, 2022, in McLean, Texas.
Per Fred’s wishes, no services will be scheduled. Inurnment will be at a later date at Fort Phantom Hill Cemetery in Jones County, Texas, near Abilene, Texas. Family received friends for visitation at 2 p.m. Thursday, Dec. 22, 2022, at his home in Twitty. Cremation and arrangements are by Robertson Funeral Directors of Shamrock.
Fred was born Oct. 27, 1943, in Abilene to Henry Fred Allison Sr. and Bonnie Roena Jefferies Allison. He married Sandra Kaye Snider on Sept. 13, 1986, in Paden, Okla.
A longtime resident of Twitty, Fred worked as a soil conservationist for U.S. Department of Agriculture Natural Resources Conservation Service for 46 years prior to his retirement. An avid coon hunter, Fred won several awards from the hunts that he did. He also enjoyed piddling, welding, going to auctions and tractors. He loved buying and working on all different types of tractors. He loved all his critters – his cows and dogs. Most of all, Fred loved spending time with his friends and family.
He was preceded in death by his parents; his wife in 2012; a brother; and a sister.
Survivors include his daughter, Julie Allison and Larissa Halford, of Big Spring, Texas; his grandchildren Dalton Owens, Alyssa Moran and husband Isaac, Destrie Kinnaman HENRY FRED ALLISON JR.
and Denim Kinnaman; his great-grandchildren Nolan and Mercy; his nephews and cousins; and very special friends Calvin and Peggy Devereaux.
The family request memorials be sent to a local animal shelter in memory of Fred.
