Jazzlin Castaneda Chaparro, 10, of Wellington, Texas, passed away Sunday, Dec. 11, 2022, in Lubbock, Texas.
A funeral mass took place at 2 p.m. Saturday, Dec. 17, 2022, at Our Mother of Mercy Catholic Church in Wellington with Fr. Anthony Kowtiki as celebrant. Arrangements were by Adams Funeral Home of Wellington.
She was born on May 15, 2012, in Childress, Texas to Rene Castaneda and Joanne Chaparro. Jazzlin was a fifth grader at Wellington Elementary School and was a Catholic.
She is survived by her parents, Rene Castaneda and Joanne Chaparro; a sister, Natali Castaneda Chaparro; her grandparents, Ruben and Leopolda Castaneda, all of Wellington, and Jesus and Maria Lozoya, of Scotts Bluff, Neb.; and her aunts, uncles, cousins and many friends.
