KENNETH JAMES EDWARDS

Kenneth James Edwards, age 68, passed away on April 3, 2025, in Childress,Texas.

A private, family memorial service will be held at a later date.

Kenneth was born on Dec. 25, 1956, to William James Edwards and Alletta Mae (Edens) Edwards in Hobart, Okla.

Kenneth was a quiet and reserved man who was a master plumber by trade. He began his career at the age of 15 with Villiard’s, under the direction of Charlie Barsmith. After getting a few years of experience, he took a job for the State of Texas on the area maintenance team. He worked on boiler systems all across the state and became well known for the quality of his work. When all was said and done, Kenneth had worked in his field for over 41 years. Kenneth was an avid fisherman who introduced the sport to his wife and passed down his passion for the sport to his children.

He is preceded in death by his parents, William James and Alletta Mae Edwards, and his mother-in-law, Carolyn DeLois Lathem.

Kenneth is survived by his wife, Tina DeLois Edwards, of Childress; daughter Alaina Kate Schaefer and husband Tyson, of Childress; son Kaleb Will Edwards and wife Rabecca, of Collinsville, Texas; many adopted children from family get-togethers; grandchildren Allison Brook Schaefer, Abigail Faither Schaefer, Kason Luke Timmons, Kailee Jae Timmons, Kimber DeLois Edwards and Kenneth Russell James Edwards; great-grandson Kash Paul William Dollar; father-in-law Russel Gene Lathem, of Clarendon, Texas; sister-in-law Cara Lace Love, of Childress; brother Billy Kirk Edwards and wife Rida, of Amarillo, Texas; brother Keith Douglas Edwards and wife Audra, of Baird, Texas; eight nephews and nieces; and a vast network of fishing family and friends.

Kenneth is being laid to rest with his family in Hobart, Okla.

The family would like to thank Childress Regional Medical Center Hospice, the hospital emergency room and medical surgical nurses, emergency medical services and Dr. Kimberly Hagar for their excellent service and compassionate care for Kenneth and his family during this difficult time.
