LUBBOCK — Texas Panhandle Track and Field Club athletes recently competed in the Region 9 Texas Amateur Athletic Foundation (TAAF) Regional meet, qualifying nine athletes for the upcoming TAAF State Games of Texas, which will be held Thursday, July 30-Sunday, Aug. 2 in Bryan-College Station.
The Texas Panhandle Track and Field Club will compete at the Texas Amateur Athletic Foundation (TAAF) Region 9 Regional Track and Field Meet Friday, July 10-Saturday, July 11 in Lubbock. The top three medalists will qualify to the state-level TAAF Games of Texas meet, which will be held Thursday, July 30-Sunday, Aug. 2 in Bryan-College Station. TEXAS PANHANDLE TRACK AND FIELD CLUB

Childress’ Ansley Parr was recently selected to Texas High School Softball’s Top 10 Strikeout Leaders. In Class 3A, Parr ranked No. 6, racking up 307 strikeouts in 2026. Parr was preceded by Iowa Park’s Callista Berrett, 370 strikeouts; Clyde’s Brynli Reynolds, 333 strikeouts; Grandview’s Madi Doty, 331 strikeouts; Boyd’s Abby Atkinson, 315 strikeouts; and Warren’s Kenley Fife, 308 strikeouts.
