Memphis drops district opener to Quanah

QUANAH — Opening district,the Memphis Cyclones saw their closest game of the season, ultimately falling to the Quanah Indians in a 10-6 final Friday, Oct. 6. On offense, Isaiah Martinez went threefor- five, throwing all 29 of the Cyclones’ passing yards.

LUBBOCK — Capping a time of 14:43.09, senior Clarissa Gamboa led the varsity Childress Lady Cats with a 10th-place finish at the UIL 3A District 2 Cross Country Meet Monday, Oct. 9 at Mae Simmons Park in Lubbock, securing a spot at regionals. Results are as follows.

Oct. 13 The varsity Childress Bobcat football team plays the Tulia Hornets at 7 p.m. in Childress. Oct. 14 The junior varsity blue and varsity Childress Lady Cat volleyball teams play the Lubbock-Cooper Liberty Lady Patriots in Lubbock. Junior varsity plays at 11 a.m.
