Modern Home Club freshens up on distracted driving dangers

CHILDRESS — Modern Home Club met at 10 a.m. Thursday, Nov. 20 at the Childress County Heritage Museum.The meeting was called to order by President Soundra Christie, with Secretary Raenell Smith reading the minutes. Hostesses Pat Collins and Margie Porter provided refreshments.
The Memphis Lions Club recently welcomes the Memphis High School Future Farmers of America (FFA) Greenhand Chapter Conducting team. Presenting the opening ceremony for the Lions, the team competed at the Area 1 Leadership Development Events (LDEs) Saturday, Nov. 22 at West Texas A&M University in Canyon. Memphis Lions Club

Reception marks 250 years for U.S. Marine Corps

WELLINGTON – To mark the 250th birthday of the United States Marine Corps, Wellington citizens with connections to a Marine gathered with U.S. Marine Corps serviceman Dennis Kershner for a reception from 2-4 p.m. Monday, Nov. 10 at Collingsworth Public Library.
Sponsored by the Collingsworth County Ministerial Alliance, the Community Thanksgiving Service is slated for 5 p.m. Sunday, Nov. 23 at Dodson First Nazarene Church. Calvary Baptist Church Pastor Noah Downing will bring the Thanksgiving message, and Justin Mixon will provide the music. In lieu of an offering, everyone is encouraged to bring any canned good.
