Wellington First Christian prepares Community Christmas Candlelight Service
Childress Elementary School will host Family Fun Night from 5-6 p.m. Monday, Dec. 16. At the event, supplies will be available for make holiday cards, which will be delivered to local nursing homes. Following, first- and fourth-grade students will host their Christmas Performance in the Childress Elementary School gymnasium. Memphis Independent School District Superintendent William Alexander thanks Memphis High School senior Magaly Torres for showing integrity and respect, even when she believed no one was watching. After a recent football game, Torres got out of her vehicle and cleaned up trash left by other students. “No one asked Magaly to do so,” Alexander said. “She just did it because it was the right thing to do.
