Body

Frances Ellen (Warrick) Holland, 79, of Wellington, Texas, passed away Sunday, Nov. 2, 2025, in Amarillo, Texas, due to lung complications.

Frances was born on Feb. 3, 1946, in Wellington to Velman Earnest Warrick and Dora Fern (Durfey) Warrick. Raised in Wellington, she graduated with the Wellington High School Class of 1964.

She attended Texas Tech University for a year before marrying Morris Kent Holland in 1965. She went on to graduate from Amarillo College in 1968 and later attended West Texas State University while working for Walsh Food Service.

In 1975, Frances and Kent established Livestock Supply and Western Wear, a successful business they owned and operated together in Wellington for many years, along with raising horses and pasturing cattle. Following that venture, Frances worked as a Pharmacy Technician at Collingsworth General Hospital, where she was admired for her dependability, kindness and steady nature.

Frances served as a member of Wellington First Methodist Church and Methodist Women and on the Board of Directors for Hearts United Give Support (H.U.G.S.).

Gentle in spirit, yet strong-willed at heart, Frances was a quiet believer whose faith was evident in the way she lived: steady, kind and devoted to those she loved. She enjoyed following and trying to keep up with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren, in person and later through physical and online pictures, tending to her plants and garden, reading and the simple comforts of home.

She cherished family gatherings, especially when they involved her famous Chex Party Mix, her signature cheese and grits and the spirited tradition of enjoying, and nearly competing over, the best chocolate pies. Her presence and smile brought warmth and her quiet strength, rooted in devotion to her husband and family, anchored them through every season of life.

Frances was preceded in death by her parents; brothers Glen Warrick and Dan Warrick; and sisters-in-law Denise (Mitchell) Holland and Shannon Holland.

She is survived by her husband of 60 years, Kent Holland, of Wellington; two sons, Chad Holland and wife Camie, of Childress, Texas, and Clay Holland and wife Tony, of Amarillo, Texas; grandson Chase and Sarandon, of Lompoc, Calif., granddaughter Carly and husband Brandon Ward, of Wellington; granddaughter Taylor, of Childress; grandson Lane and wife Ashley, of Idalou, Texas; grandson Brice, of Lubbock, Texas; granddaughter Andi and fiancĂ© Colby Britten, of Amarillo; great-grandsons Carson, of Lompoc, Calif., and Barrett, of Idalou; and great-granddaughters Berkeley and Blair, both of Wellington, Emmerysnn, of Idalou, and Margo, of Lompoc, Calif.
