BETTY RUTH CHAMBERS TUBBS
Betty Ruth Chambers Tubbs, 83, of Amarillo, Texas, passed from her earthly life to her heavenly home on Friday, Nov. 14, 2025.
Funeral services honoring her homegoing will be at 2 p.m. Saturday, Nov. 29, 2025, at the Wellington Victory Temple Full Gospel Church with Rev. Victor West, of Vernon, Texas, and Rev. T. D. Edwards, of Altus, Okla., officiating. Burial will be at Fairview Cemetery in Wellington, Texas.
Her sunrise was on Feb. 26, 1942, in Paris, Texas, to Ruthie Mae Walker.
Betty married Joe Chambers on July 27, 1957, in Wellington, and he preceded her in death in 1992. She later married Moses Tubbs in 1995 in Wellington, and he also preceded her in death.
She was a longtime resident of Wellington, where she raised all her family while keeping house for individuals. Betty moved to Altus in 1995 as a caregiver to close friends and on to Amarillo in 2024 to be near her family.
Betty served as an active Bible believing member of the New Beginnings Full Gospel Ministry in Altus just as long as she was able.
She loved sewing for the public, designing her own clothes, cooking, singing, playing her keyboard and crocheting.
Betty was also preceded in death by her mother; a son, Ricky Chambers; two brothers; and three sisters.
Left to mourn her passing are two daughters, Wanda Smith and husband August, of Amarillo, and Paula Chambers, of Crowley, Texas; six sons, Freddie Joe Chambers and Raymond Chambers, both of Anna, Texas, Lenoard Chambers and wife Yolanda, of Amarillo, Robert Chambers, of Colorado Springs, Colo., Tommy Chambers, of Duncan, Okla., and Roy Chambers, of Altus; a host of grandchildren; numerous great-grandchildren and several great-great grandchildren; and her precious grand-dogs, Bella and Lulu.
Mom, you showed us how to face challenges with courage and grace; your strength will inspire us forever. You were the glue that held our family together; your strength was unmatched even in the toughest of times. You stood tall and showed us how to persevere, and we will carry your strength with us always. Thank you for being our rock. We will always admire and strive to emulate you. Mom, you were a fighter in every sense of the word; thank you for showing us how to be brave. Your presence will be deeply missed.
