Paul Lee Carroll, 80, of Memphis, Texas, passed away peacefully on Friday, Dec. 5, 2025, in Memphis.
Funeral services took place at 2 p.m. on _ursday, Dec. 11, 2025, at First Assembly of God in Memphis, with Rev. Dale Griswold and Rev. Daniel Downey o_ciating. Burial followed at Fairview Cemetery in Memphis. Viewing was held from 9 a.m.noon on _ursday, with the family receiving friends for visitation from 10-11:30 a.m. Arrangements were under the care of Robertson Funeral Directors of Memphis.
Paul was born on Aug. 10, 1945, in McAlester, Okla., the son of A.L. and Clara Mae Grubbs Carroll. He married the love of his life, Sherry Lanell Scoggins, on Nov. 25, 1972.
A longtime resident of Memphis, Paul began his career with GTE right out of high school and remained there faithfully until his retirement in 1994. He was a devoted member of First Assembly of God, serving his church community for many years as a respected member of the church board.
Paul was preceded in death by his parents; his brothers, Bobby Carroll, James Carroll and Charles Carroll; and a nephew, Robby Carroll.
He is survived by his beloved wife, Sherry Scoggins Carroll; his son, Shad Lee Carroll and wife Carol; his cherished grandchild, Saylor Carroll; his brother, Donnie Carroll and wife Linda; and his sisters, Charlotte Carroll Schacher and husband Bob and Glenda Carroll Cook; along with numerous nieces and nephews who loved him dearly.
Paul will be remembered for his dedication to his family, his church and his community, as well as for the kindness, integrity and quiet strength that marked his life.
