Patricia Ann (Elliott) Hays, 81, of Hollis, Okla., was released from her earthly life to her eternal heavenly body on Valentine’s Day, Saturday, Feb. 14, 2026.
Funeral services took place at 2 p.m. Wednesday, Feb. 18, 2026, at the Dodson Church of the Nazarene, with Rev. Kevin Harris, pastor, Doug Gonzales and Bart Kirchoff officiating. Burial followed in Fairmount Cemetery in Hollis. The family entrusted arrangements to the care of Adams Funeral Home of Wellington, Texas. Visitation with the family was held prior to the service at the church.
Ann was born on Dec. 30, 1944, in Hollis, to Glenn F. and Gertrude Breedlove Elliott.
She graduated from Arnett High School and received her bachelor’s degree from Southwestern Oklahoma State University in 1969. Ann returned to Arnett, Okla. to coach basketball and teach in the seventh and eighth grades.
She married the love of her life, Lloyd Hays, on March 26, 1970, in Harmon County, Okla.
Ann was injured in a horseback riding accident while competing in the Pony Express event at the Hollis Rodeo on Aug. 21, 1971. In a coma until Thanksgiving of that year, some of the doctors said she would never wake up. But as we all knew, Ann, with her strong constitution, came out of the coma determined to do her best in the situation she found herself.
Ann’s love for animals kept her as active as possible, raising chickens, ducks, peacocks, a miniature horse and bottle-fed calves up until recent years.
She served as a member of the Dodson Church of the Nazarene.
Ann was preceded in death by her parents.
She is survived by her husband, Lloyd, of Hollis; two sisters, Jeanell Hintergardt, of Austin, and Gayle Dennis, of Norman, Okla.; and her nephews and nieces, John, Amy, Farris and Donna.
For those wishing to make a memorial donation in Ann’s memory, the family suggests the Dodson Church of the Nazarene.
