Bobby “Bob” Jack Cochran, 92, of Childress, Texas, formerly of Arlie, Dodson, Texas, passed away Saturday, March 28, 2026.

Funeral services will be at 11 a.m. Friday, April 3, 2026, at Adams Funeral Chapel, with Dr. Craig Darter officiating. Burial will follow in North Fairview Cemetery. Arrangements are by Adams Funeral Home of Wellington.

The received friends from 6-7 p.m. at the funeral home Thursday evening, April 2.

Pallbearers are Nathaniel Cochran, Matthew Cochran, Dr. Jacob Darter, Mason Darter, Dr. Luke Darter and Isaiah Darter.

Bob was born May 5, 1933, in Hamilton, Marion County, Ala. to Henry Grady Cochran and Annie Ethel Conway Cochran.

Bob went into the U.S. Army in 1954 and served in Germany in the 82nd reconnaissance as an Intel specialist.

Bob married Barbara Dean Taylor on May 19, 1962, in Hamilton, Marion County, Ala.

Bob made a living farming in the Arlie community for 53 years, retiring in 1999. After retirement, he began dozer and excavator work to keep himself busy. He always planted large gardens and shared his garden crops with those he loved.

Bob had a great sense of humor and enjoyed teasing friends and family.

Bob and Barbara have two children, a son, Gaylon Wayne Cochran and wife Judy, of Childress, and daughter Lisa Kay Cochran Darter and husband Dr. Craig Darter, of Childress. They have six grandsons, Nathaniel Cochran and wife Emerie, of Lubbock, Texas, Matthew Cochran and wife Kayli, of Argyle, Texas, Dr. Jacob Darter and wife Mikaela, of Childress, Mason Darter, of Lubbock, Dr. Luke Darter and wife Molly, of Lubbock, and Isaiah Darter and wife Tristen, of Lubbock; two great grandchildren, Alden Dean Darter and Ada Kay Darter; and a third due in April, Mikah Jacob Darter.

Bob loved his wife and family with all he had and took great pride in all their accomplishments. Bob was a good, honest man and lived a life of integrity. He publicly confessed his belief in Christ and was baptized in 1986.

He was proceeded in death by his parents; two brothers, Willard Cochran and Billy Joe Cochran; and two sisters, Helen McDuff and Ruby Lee Colwell.

Survivors include his wife, Barbara; his son, Gaylon and family; daughter Lisa and family; one brother, Grady Cochran Jr. and wife Jan; and many nephews and nieces and extended family and friends.
