THOMAS GARNER PARKER

Body

Thomas Garner Parker, 76, of Memphis, passed away Monday, September 28, 2026, in Amarillo.

Services took place at 1 p.m. Saturday, October 3, 2026, at the Memphis Church of Christ, with Mark Lance officiating. Graveside services followed at 10 a.m. Mountain Standard Time on Monday, October 5, 2026, at Dell Valley Memorial Acres Cemetery in Dell City. Arrangements were under the care of Robertson Funeral Directors of Memphis.

Thomas was born December 6, 1949, in Matador, to Wilbur and Katherine Garner Parker. On September 28, 1973, he married the love of his life, Linda Nelle Watson, in Dell City. Together, they shared 53 years of marriage, building a life filled with family, friendship, hard work, and countless memories.

Thomas made his home in Memphis for 34 years. He worked as a cotton gin manager and proudly served as a board member of the Memphis Farmers Gin. He was a man who valued his community and the people in it, and his years of work and service were an important part of the life he built in Memphis.

Thomas had a genuine love for the game of golf. He enjoyed not only playing golf, but everything about it, and he was a longtime member and board member of the Memphis Country Club. He also loved playing cards and dominoes and, perhaps most of all, spending time around a table with friends. Thomas was fiercely competitive and loved a good game. Whether it was golf, cards, dominoes, or any other game, he played to win – and those who knew him will remember the determination and enthusiasm he brought to every competition.

But beyond the games and accomplishments, Thomas will be remembered most for the people he loved and the friendships he made along the way. He treasured time spent with family and friends and created memories that will continue to be cherished by those who knew him. His presence, his competitive spirit, and the joy he found in being with others will be deeply missed.

Thomas was preceded in death by his parents, Wilbur and Katherine Parker, and his niece, Rebecca Weems.

He leaves behind his beloved wife, Linda Parker, of Memphis; daughters, Deedra Lewis and husband Shane, of Arkansas, and Melody Parker, of New Hampshire; brother, Joe Ed Parker, of Abilene; sister, Cindy Hill, of Midland; grandchildren, Brennen Lynch and wife Morgan and Ambriana Lynch; great-grandchildren, Willow Lynch and Grey Lynch; nieces, Rita and Kari; and nephews, Kyle and Joe.

His family will carry forward the memories of a devoted husband, father, grandfather, brother, uncle, and friend. Though he will be deeply missed, the love he shared, the friendships he made, and the many memories he created will remain with those who knew and loved him.

The family requests that memorials be made to Hall County Home Delivered Meals.
