Dorthy Jean Robertson, 94, of Wellington, Texas, passed away Sunday, Nov. 6, 2022.
Graveside services took place at 2 p.m. Wednesday, Nov. 9, 2022, at the Lakeview Cemetery with Keith Martin and Rev. Ben McCleery, of Stephenville, officiating. Arrangements were by Adams Funeral Home of Wellington.
She was born on Nov. 30, 1927, in Memphis, Texas to Frank and Carrie Hodge Spruill and attended school in Memphis.
Dorthy married Lee M. Robertson on March 5, 1947, in Hedley, Texas. He preceded her in death in 2007.
A longtime resident of Lakeview, Texas, Dorthy served as a member of the Lakeview Methodist Church, where she was active in the United Methodist Women (UMW), before moving to Wellington to be near family. Her love of quilting also led her to start a quilting club in Lakeview.
Upon moving to Wellington, Dorthy transferred her membership to the First United Methodist Church there. She stayed active in UMW and enjoyed quilting with the local lady’s group.
Dorthy was also preceded in death by her parents; a great-granddaughter, Lillie Tillman; a brother and a sister.
Her survivors include three daughters, Betty Brown and her husband, Bill, of Stephenville, Texas, Linda Hawthorne, of Amarillo, Texas, and Charlotte Martin and her husband, Keith, of Wellington; her brother, Billy Spruill, of Amarillo; nine grandchildren, Kellie Carlson and husband Lyndell, Kris McCleery and husband Ben, Kyle Weaver and wife Jackie, Kenneth Brown and wife Sharon, Tammi Carr and husband Randall, Misty Hawthorne, Keith Clark and wife Lori, Traci Judd and husband Lee and Lana Tillman and husband Baron; 29 great-grandchildren and seven great-great-grandchildren.
