LYNNA JANES
Lynna Janes, 59, of Wellington, Texas/Shamrock, Texas, passed away on Saturday, Jan. 28, 2023. Celebration of Life services were held Thursday, Feb. 2 at Memorial Gardens Cemetery, located in Wellington.
Lynna was born Aug. 4, 1963, in Wellington to Carroll and Mollie Nunnelley. She graduated from Wellington High School in 1981, one of “The Bucks of ’81.” She went on to earn her bachelor’s degree in education from Texas Tech University, where she graduated cum laude. She married the love of her life, Kyle Janes, on Aug. 1, 1985, in Wellington.
Lynna taught school for 19 years in Shamrock and Samnorwood, Texas, retiring in 2007. She immensely enjoyed her career.
In her spare time, Lynna enjoyed fishing, riding horses and paddle boating at the Bumpass. She and Kyle took many motorcycle trips together. Lynna always enjoyed a good meal at one of her favorite restaurants, and she was always up for an adventure.
She adored being “Lolli” to her grandbabies and a mother to her girls, and she shared an amazing bond with her sisters. To know Lynna was to love her. She was a member of Church of Christ in Shamrock.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her parents-in-law, Bill and JoAnn Janes; and a nephew, Jarred Biehl.
Survivors include her husband, Kyle Janes, of Wellington; two daughters, Magen Carter and husband Micah, of Wellington, and Malanee Noland and husband Ky, of Amarillo, Texas; two grandchildren, Jessica and Jackson Carter; four sisters, Carla Biehl and husband Greg, of Clyde, Texas, Janna May and husband David, of Allen, Texas, and Paula Hays and husband Collin and Connie Nunnelley, both of Amarillo; and her nieces and nephews, Jace Biehl, Macy and Austin May and Ben and Mollie Hays.
The family suggests memorials may be made to Memorial Gardens Cemetery in Wellington.
