ILDEFONSO RODRIGUEZ
Ildefonso Rodriguez, 68, former longtime resident of Wellington, Texas, passed away Tuesday, March 14, 2023, in Houston, Texas.
A rosary took place at 6 p.m. Thursday, March 23 at Adams Funeral Home. A funeral mass will be said at 10 a.m. Friday, March 24 at Our Mother of Mercy Catholic Church in Wellington with Fr. Anthony Kowtiki as celebrant. Burial will follow in Memorial Gardens Cemetery. Arrangements are by Adams Funeral Home of Wellington.
He was born on May 22, 1954, in Rancho Guadalupe, Dolores Hidalgo, Guanajuato, Mexico, to Jose and Maria Barrientos Rodriguez.
Ildefonso moved to Wellington from Mexico in 1975. He farmed many years for James Masten, and later, Tommy Hightower. He moved to North Carolina in 2000, returned to Childress, Texas for a few years, and then, moved to Houston, Texas.
He married Yolanda Castillo in 2006 in North Carolina. He served as a member of the Catholic Church.
Ildefonso was preceded in death by his parents; an infant son, Jose Severiano Rodriguez; four sisters; and a brother.
He is survived by his wife, Yolanda, of Houston; a son, Ramon Rodriguez, Sr., and his wife, Rebecca, of Wellington; three daughters, Maria Guadalupe Rodriguez, of Plymouth, Ind., Consuelo Rodriguez and Ray Ruiz and Marcela Estrada and her husband, Ernesto, both of Wellington; a brother, Ponciano Rodriguez, of North Carolina; his sister, Josefina Cruces, of Guanajuato; 14 grandchildren; and one great-grandchild.
