Doris Ottilie Knoll, 92, of Shamrock, Texas, passed away Saturday, July 1, 2023.
Graveside services took place at 10:30 a.m. Wednesday, July 5,2023,in Shamrock Cemetery with Rev. Michael Erickson, pastor of Zion Lutheran Church, located in Pampa,Texas, officiating. Arrangements were by Adams Funeral Home of Wellington, Texas. After the service, the family visited with friends and family at the Trinity Lutheran Church in Shamrock.
Braxton Allen, Duece Faires, Weston Kay, Laramie Allen and James Knoll served as pallbearers.
She was born on Sept. 1, 1930, in Goliad County,Texas to Otto Louis and Ottilie Marie Christine Emma Riemenschneider Gruetzmacher. Doris attended school in Goliad and San Antonio, Texas, and she graduated from Yorktown High School.
Doris married Marvin Knoll on Dec. 30, 1951, in Yorktown, Texas. He preceded her in death in 2011. Her greatest loves were her husband and daughters.
Her time was filled with the many activities of school and church that involved raising her daughters and grandchildren. Leading Brownies, Girl Scouts and teaching Sunday School were among her favorites. She served as a member of the Trinity Lutheran Church in Shamrock and volunteered with the Collingsworth General Hospital Auxiliary, which began in 1981.
Doris was also preceded in death by her parents; her sonin- law, John “Sonny” Stages III; a sister, Alice Junker and her husband, Richard; and two nephews, Bob Junker and Bob Knoll.
Her survivors include three daughters, Connie Stages, of Shamrock, Vonnie Skinner and her husband, Gary, of Pampa, and Donnie Carter and her husband, Billy, of Wellington; four granddaughters, Sunni Jo Stages and Kandi Allen and Laramie, of Shamrock, Garnet Faires and Duece, of Pampa, and Carly Kay and Weston, of Altus, Okla.; a great-grandson,Braxton Allen, and a great-granddaughter, Myleigh Allen, both of Shamrock; brother-in-law Franklin Knoll and Connie, of Shamrock; and three nephews, James Knoll and family, Gene Junker and family and Evan Junker.
In lieu of flowers, the family suggests that memorials be made to your favorite charity.
